Some news is hard to write without letting the smile show through, and this is one of them: SEO Alive has won the international tender to manage the search positioning of VisitAndorra.com, the official tourism portal of the Principality, for the next four years.
Behind this announcement lie many weeks of work, analysis and proposals. And there is something harder to measure in hours: the pride of leading the digital visibility of the Principality around the world. Here's what this project involves and why it means so much to us.
€1.3 million and a 4-year plan
The contract sets out an investment of €1.3 million to manage the SEO and Google Ads of VisitAndorra.com over four years. Two disciplines that perform well on their own, but multiply when combined.
The paid channel delivers immediate visibility and highly valuable intent data, while organic builds the foundation that reduces dependence on ad spend. Running both from the same team prevents two strategies from competing with each other instead of complementing one another.
The timeframe is the most significant part from a strategic point of view. Four years is an unusual horizon in digital marketing, and it is precisely the time SEO needs to unlock its full potential:
- It allows you to build real authority. A tourism portal competes for fiercely contested queries across several languages and markets. That isn't won in a single quarter.
- It allows you to work on architecture and content in depth, instead of patching isolated pages to plug traffic drops.
- It allows you to measure with rigor. With four years of comparable data, decisions are based on real evidence.
- It allows you to stay ahead. The search landscape is changing at great speed with the rise of generative search engines, and a long-term plan gives room to adapt the strategy without improvising.
An international, open tender with no shortcuts
An international tender means that any company from Andorra or Spain could take part, with no restrictions or reserved quotas. That means we were competing with agencies from far larger markets, with broader structures and well-known client portfolios.
In a tender like this, good ideas alone are not enough. You have to demonstrate methodology, execution capacity and a real understanding of the project at stake. In our case, that translated into weeks of research, competitive analysis of the tourism sector, a technical review of the portal and the design of a strategy that could hold up over four years.
A pride with an Andorran accent
Since our founding in 2019, at SEO Alive we have worked on international projects across very different sectors, from SaaS to ecommerce, and we have learned to operate in markets that are not our own.
But this project has a different component: we're talking about home. The valleys, the ski resorts, the shops and the villages we know because we walk them every day. Putting our technical expertise at the service of the Principality's tourism promotion is, quite simply, the kind of assignment you hope for over the years.
Understanding what someone planning to visit Andorra is looking for, in which language they search, in which month and with what expectation, is a real competitive advantage, because it's first-hand knowledge that appears in no tool.
What comes next?
The work starts now. The first phases of the project will focus on the technical audit of the portal, the full keyword mapping by market and language, and the definition of the content roadmap, in coordination with the team responsible for the portal.
We'll be sharing what we learn here whenever the project's confidentiality allows, because we believe these are the cases that move the industry forward.
Thanks to the entire SEO Alive team for their effort and dedication on this proposal. And thanks too to those who trusted an Andorran agency with a project of this scale.
Do you have a project that needs a medium- or long-term strategy? Let's talk. A single conversation can be the start of our success story.
