GEO Agency

We work so that ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google’s AI Overviews name and cite your brand when someone asks them about what you sell. We have been an SEO agency since 2019 and we build the software this is measured with, so we do not tell you it improved: we show you the screen.

What AI answers today when you ask it for a GEO agency

Before selling the service, we run it on our own category. We ask the market’s real questions across all five engines, every month, and publish what we find. Here is what comes back today.

01

The answer is not built from service pages

Asked for a recommendation, no engine leans on an agency’s service landing page. The answer is assembled from third-party listings — «the 10 best GEO agencies» — press pieces and Google Maps profiles. The agency’s own page shows up afterwards, as confirmation.

02

When they cite an agency, they cite its home page

The link next to the name is almost never the service page: it is the root domain. That is why an agency home page should not be stuffed with service terms, and why this page lives on its own. Each has a different job.

03

The five engines do not agree with each other

The list of providers changes from engine to engine, and it changes with the language of the question. An agency measuring «AI visibility» on one engine in one language is measuring one corner of the problem.

What a GEO agency is

GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization: the work of getting generative engines to use your content when they build an answer, and to name you in it. A GEO agency does that. Here is what it means in practice.

What it does

It turns your site into a source a model can read, understand and cite: a clearly defined entity, consistent structured data, content cut into passages that each answer one question, and presence in the third-party sources engines consult before answering.

How it differs from hiring SEO

SEO fights for a position in a list of ten links. GEO fights to appear inside an answer that has no list. The foundations are shared — crawling, authority, quality — but the unit of work changes: from the document to the passage, and from the ranking to the mention.

What you get

A visibility audit across the five engines, an entity and structured-data plan, an extractable-content calendar, a plan for presence in citable sources, and a dashboard where you see every month how often you are named and from which source.

What you do not get

Nobody can guarantee you a citation in ChatGPT, just as nobody could guarantee you the top spot in Google. Anyone promising that in writing is selling you something else. What can be guaranteed is the work, the measurement and seeing the raw data yourself.

GEO, AEO, LLMO, GAIO and SEO

Five acronyms used almost interchangeably that are not the same thing. This is the border between them — and the border between our pages.

SEO
Ranking pages in a search engine’s list of results. Still the foundation: without real organic authority there are no citations.
GEO
Generative Engine Optimization. Getting generative engines — ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude — to use your content and name you when they answer.
AEO
Answer Engine Optimization. Being the answer on any surface that answers without a list, including Google’s featured snippets and People Also Ask.
LLMO
Large language model optimization. In practice it is used as a synonym for GEO, with the emphasis on the model rather than the search engine.
GAIO
Generative AI Optimization. The term the German market mostly uses for what everyone else calls GEO.

How we work

Five steps, each with a concrete deliverable and a date. If a step does not produce something you can open and read, it is not a step.

  1. 1

    Visibility audit

We measure how often each engine names you today, on which questions, which sources it cites to do it, and who is holding that space instead of you. It is the starting point and what makes every following month comparable.

What you get: Visibility report across the five engines and the list of questions we will track. First two weeks.

  2. 2

    Entity and structured data

A model cannot cite what it cannot identify. We settle on one single version of who you are, what you do and where, consistent across the site, the markup, the profiles and the directories engines read.

What you get: Entity schema, JSON-LD shipped and external profiles corrected. Weeks three to six.

  3. 3

    Citable sources

Answers are built from third-party sources. We work the mentions on the sites engines consult for your category: industry listings, press, comparison pieces and verified profiles.

What you get: Source map by category and the acquisition plan, with month-by-month status.

  4. 4

    Extractable content

We rewrite and extend the content so each block answers one question and holds up on its own away from the page. That is the difference between text that ranks and text that can be quoted.

What you get: Editorial calendar, block templates and the priority pages rewritten.

  5. 5

    Continuous measurement

Every month the same questions run again on the same engines. Mentions, share of voice, cited sources and trend, with direct dashboard access so you never depend on our report.

What you get: Open AI Tracker dashboard and a monthly review with the decisions taken.

What you will measure, with the instrument in front of you

This is not a mockup: it is the AI visibility dashboard in SEOcrawl, the software we build ourselves. We are not a customer of somebody else’s tool — we make it, and that is what lets us show you the raw data instead of a slide.

Mentions

How often each engine names you, over a fixed set of questions that does not change from month to month.

Share of voice

What share of the answers in your category name you rather than someone else. This is the metric that says whether you are gaining ground.

Cited sources

Which pages the engine uses to name you. It tells you where to work next, and it usually comes as a surprise.

Trend

The month-by-month series. Without a series there is no cause: a single snapshot cannot tell a real change from a strange day for the model.

Cases with numbers

Chess.com came to us in 2019 with around 6 million organic visits a month. Today it is past 30 million. It is not a GEO case — it is SEO, and it predates all this — but it is exactly the kind of authority AI citations are later built on.

Why us

The short answer: because we build the software this is measured with. Any agency can buy a licence for an AI visibility tool; we decide what ours measures, and that is why we can open the dashboard for you instead of sending a PDF.

Pricing and how to start

None of the ten pages ranking for «geo agency» says what it costs, and it is one of the most repeated questions. We do: between €1,000 and €3,000 a month, and here is what moves the figure inside that range.

Fixed-price initial audit

A fixed scope and a fixed price: measurement across the five engines, entity diagnosis and a prioritised plan. It is delivered and it is yours, whether you hire us afterwards or not.

Monthly work

Between €1,000 and €3,000 a month, with an assigned team and a plan per quarter. One market and one language with content in good shape sits at the bottom of the range; several markets, a deep rewrite and external source work sit at the top.

What moves the price

Three things, in this order: how many languages, how much content has to be redone, and whether your category is already taken in the answers. Nothing else. Where in the range you land is what we tell you after the audit.

No long lock-in: if after six months the needle has not moved and we cannot explain why, there is no point continuing.

How to choose a GEO agency

Seven questions you can put to any GEO agency — us included — before signing anything. If one of them gets no concrete answer, you have learned something important.

  1. 01

    What do you measure with?

Ask for the name of the tool and exactly what it measures. «We monitor AI» is not an answer.

  2. 02

    On which engines?

ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and AI Overviews do not pick the same sources. Measuring one and extrapolating is measuring badly.

  3. 03

    In which languages?

The answer changes with the language of the question. If you sell in five markets, the measurement has to run in five languages.

  4. 04

Do I get access to the data?

Either you see the dashboard yourself or you depend on being told. Ask for direct access before signing.

  5. 05

    How often is it measured?

Models change their answer overnight. Without a fixed cadence and a stable set of questions there is no series worth having.

  6. 06

What happens if I am not cited?

There should be a plan for that scenario, and it should include working third-party sources, not just publishing more articles.

  7. 07

    Who signs the work?

Names and faces of the team that will touch your project, not a salesperson and then a stranger.

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is a GEO agency?

An agency that works to get generative engines to use your content and name your brand when they answer. It does it on three fronts: your site’s entity and structured data, content written to be extracted in passages, and presence in the third-party sources those engines consult before answering.

Does GEO replace SEO?

No. It extends it. Generative engines still lean on search indexes and on classic authority signals, so a site without SEO does not get cited. What changes is the unit of work: SEO optimises documents to rank, GEO optimises passages to be quoted.

How does an agency measure GEO performance?

By running a fixed set of questions on each engine at a fixed cadence and counting how many answers name the brand, what share of the total that is, and which sources the engine cites to name it. Without a fixed set and a cadence there is no series, and without a series nothing can be attributed.

How long does it take to see an effect?

Entity and structured-data changes show up in weeks. Mentions take longer, because they depend on sources you do not control being refreshed: three to six months for sustained movement, and sooner if the category is lightly occupied.

What does hiring a GEO agency cost?

Our monthly work runs from €1,000 to €3,000 a month, plus a fixed-price initial audit. Where you land inside that range depends on three things: how many languages and markets you cover, how much content has to be redone, and whether your category is already taken in the AI answers.

Can you guarantee ChatGPT will cite my brand?

No, and be wary of anyone who guarantees it: the answer is built by a model that changes and that nobody controls from outside. What we do guarantee is the work, monthly measurement with the same set of questions, and direct dashboard access so you see the data without an intermediary.

Does it work for my industry?

It works wherever people ask questions before buying, which today is almost everywhere. The more complex the decision, the more room there is: professional services, software, health, legal, industrial. In impulse purchases the effect is smaller because there is less research first.

Do you work in several languages at once?

Yes, and that is where the difference shows most: an engine’s answer changes with the language of the question, so a brand can be cited in English and invisible in German. We work and measure in thirteen languages, with the same set of questions translated for each market.

How is GEO different from AEO?

GEO focuses on generative engines and how they compose an answer from several sources. AEO covers any surface that answers without a list, including Google’s featured snippets and People Also Ask. They overlap, which is why we keep a page for each instead of mixing them.

Can I start with the audit only?

Yes, and it is what we recommend. The audit has a fixed price, is delivered in two weeks and includes measurement across the five engines plus the prioritised plan. It is yours, whether you run it with us or with your own team.
